There’s been a lot going on this summer, and these 5 brands have worked hard to stand out in our inbox. With timely content and clever animation a-plenty, enjoy our rundown of August’s most impressive emails.


1. Sweaty Betty

SL: Meet our mood-boosting new Super Soft styles 🎨

Chosen for: Design

This email’s hero block is exactly that: a hero. The enticing flip-a-gram style animation showcases the product perfectly and combined with the clever connection of colours to moods, it really is ticking all the audience-centric boxes. The secondary content also has us *chef’s kiss*-ing, with each image flowing from the next in an extremely pleasing way. Because email flow is to us what yoga flow is to Sweaty Betty.



2. Yard Sale Pizza

SL: Our Lionesses are BACK ⚽️🎉

Chosen for:Content

The Lionesses may not have brought the cup home (this time) but support of the incredible England team in the Women’s World Cup is something we LOVE to see. Yard Sale were ahead of the game, all over it before the tournament had even kicked off. The email not only encourages donations to a relevant cause but also offers some super cool prizes. And we’re very into the rotating football/pizza icon. Nice one Yard Sale, back of the net!



3. Black Lines

SL: We have just one thing to say.

Chosen for: Copy and content

There’s no ignoring the UK’s dire wet weather this month; everyone’s had a moan at least once. With that in mind, this email’s subject line and headline is the perfect partnership. Timely references to the weather within email marketing isn’t new, but this effort from Black Lines really stood out. The copy is minimal but appealing, which works well as their gorgeous imagery says so much on its own - we particularly love the margarita salt smiley face 🙂



4. Affinity Water

SL: Your summer water saving guide

Chosen for: Design

With its fresh, calming colour scheme and fluid design, this email instantly connects the reader to its theme of water, telling a story beyond its words. Whilst perhaps a little copy-heavy, the messaging is clear, informative and the accompanying lifestyle imagery helps convey Affinity Water’s points well.



5. Biscuiteers

SL:🚨 15% off exam congrats gifts ends at midnight!

Chosen for: Design and content

It’s lovely to see a nod to exam results season, with the timely content urging swift action based on an offer that reduces in value after just a day. And the hero and footer of this email are both really fun, we especially love the hand-drawn school style of the animated image in the header. So Biscuiteers, it’s an A* from us. Or…it would be, if that was still how exams were graded (showing our age much?!).
