The decorations are coming down, the Christmas trees are on their last legs, and the dark month of January is in full swing.

So we're here to add a little inspiration to the start of your year.

We've taken a look back at some of the great emails we received during December.

Choosing brands who caught our attention through their stand out email creatives.

From innovative illustrations, to kind hearted copy, and great us of GIF’s.

We hope you enjoy! 1.  Mango SL:

Join the party | The casual-evening collection you need Chosen for:

Colour palette and GIF game! A really well themed email from Mango, with timely and relevant content.

Using a dark colour palette eludes to a premium brand, and the chosen GIF’s bring a little fun and life into the email.

2. Knomo SL:

Here you go 'Make December Your Own' Chosen for:

Content.

An eye catching GIF to begin the email, which leads down into topical secondary content.

Each block gives a helpful hint or tip, and is linked to the relevant item on Knomo’s website.

A great way to include different items online without being too salesy! Copy.

A nice and friendly TOV throughout the creative, with a well thought out ‘Covid’ mention in the footer to make customers aware of delayed deliveries.

3. Sass & Belle SL:

We need your help to support War Child! Chosen for:

Design.

It would have been good to use both imagery and web text throughout the email but they have chosen some great contrasting colours within the image to really stand out in the inbox.

Personable.

Upon opening it’s clear what message they want to give and the charity they are working with.

It’s nice to see their sales messaging is secondary, really shouting about the cause they’re fighting for.

4. Papa John’s SL: 50% off from me to you... Chosen for: Illustrations.

A great intro informing subscribers the email has been designed in house, donating all design budget to charity.

The mix of photography and illustrations is a great way to inject some fun and personality into the creative.

The use of illustrations make the email seem more personable, as if they are talking directly to their customers.

Video in email.

They have included a nice video in the hero, which explains the story behind the design of the email and their chosen charity.

If the recipient is using a compatible device/client then the full video will play, otherwise it falls back to an image and directs via a text link.

5. Wool and the Gang SL:

Happy Holidays from The Gang! Chosen for:

Fun illustrations.

A great lighthearted and topical email design from Wool and the Gang, using animation to bring the illustrations to life.

The main CTA leads to their website, and is followed by an exclusive email discount but the content doesn’t feel too sales heavy.

A nice way to lighten up the inbox! Any you’ve loved that we’ve missed? Let us know on Instagram or Twitter .
