It’s November, and with Black Friday and Christmas shopping mostly taking place online this year, brands are having to do all they can to stand out in the inbox.

We’ve selected a wide range of emails this month, because as much as we’ve been bombarded with discounts left right and centre, we’ve also been pleasantly surprised at the human approach many brands have taken.

A little bit of kindness goes a long way! Enjoy this months round-up.

1.  Lick SL: Time to get stuck in Chosen for: Helpful content.

A great email design goes hand in hand with the right content and well thought out copy.

This email from Lick ticks all those boxes, they have a friendly TOV and their CTA’s aren’t solely around sales which is nice to see.

They link to helpful blog posts and website features throughout, adding extra value to their customers experience.

Design.

They have used white space really well, driving the readers eye down the email nicely.

The ‘top tips’ section is clear and helpful, and each CTA stands out through contrasting colour and actionable copy.

2. Boden SL:

Festive face coverings – it's a thing Chosen for:

Theme.

Boden have chosen to theme this email around one single product, which in a usual circumstance could alienate customers who aren’t interested in that specific product.

Lucky for them it’s something we are all buying right now - face masks! Copy.

A nice and friendly TOV throughout the creative, with a well thought out ‘Covid’ mention in the footer to make customers aware of delayed delivery timings.

3. Dunelm SL: Just launched:

NEW Snap & Shop What will you find? Chosen for:

Innovative content.

This is a great way for Dunelm to announce their new ‘Snap & Shop’ feature.

Using a ‘how to’ guide to promote a new product or feature launch is an easy way to ensure customers understand exactly what they have to do.

This step by step and numbered process makes it simple for customers to follow.

4. CRU Kafe SL: Our Black Friday Message Chosen for: TOV.

A welcome respite from all of the loud Black Friday messaging in our inboxes this month.

It’s nice to hear from a brand who aren’t shoving sales messaging at their customers! Hearing about what they are doing for charity is a great way of them showing their human side and being relatable to their subscribers..

6. Deciem SL: Hello, Knowvember Chosen for: Content.

Another brand to take a different approach to Black Friday messaging this year.

Deciem stood out not through innovative design or clever email techniques but through the simple means of clever copy.

Letting their customers know how they are doing things differently, and speaking to them on a human level can go a long way.

7. Dolce Gusto SL:

Introducing STARBUCKS Toffee Nut Latte Chosen for:

Theme.

The festive emails are beginning to make an appearance in our inboxes this month.

And have you ever seen an email to get you into the festive spirit more than this one from Dolce Gusto? We think not! The subtle use of animation and eye catching curved modules really bring this email to life.
