The darker autumnal days are officially drawing in, so grab a warming cup of coffee and take five minutes. We’re here to inspire you with a round-up of brands who have stood out in our inboxes over the past month. We have eye catching animations, future thinking AR techniques, and more!
We’d love to know which is your favourite, or if you received any emails you think we should know about. Let us know over on our Instagram or Twitter.
1. Wool and the Gang
SL: Simply The Vest
Chosen for: DESIGN
We were drawn to the editorial feel of this email. Thought has gone into a way to work with studio shot model images to produce a stand-out hero image. Which is definitely needed when a brand may not have a lot of assets available for their design team to work with.
Chosen for: COPY
The copy feels on-brand with “Simply the Vest” tying in nicely with the brand name. Clear CTA’s used too!
2. Kate Spade
SL: Try this one for size (at home!)
Chosen for: INNOVATION
Kate Spade have recently integrated Tangiblee’s “virtual try-on” technology to enhance their online shopping experience. This allows the customer to see a real-time image of a ring on their finger for example, or see the size of a Kate Spade handbag against a model matching their height, helping to increase conversion rates. Kate Spade has promoted this with clear instructions in their email. We’re not a big fan of the amount of images used in the email though!
3. Wolf & Moon
SL: Meet the Martha collection 〰️
Chosen for: DESIGN
Instantly eye-catching, Wolf & Moon’s email has a bold animated hero image that will grab the users attention, even if the image isn’t animated in email clients that don’t support animated gifs.
Chosen for: CONTENT
Unusually Wolf & Moons TikTok is the social channel they’ve decided to highlight in this email. This could be a reflection of the ever-growing presence of TikTok amongst brands. And maybe even a push to grow their followers on TikTok as their following on instagram is significantly greater.
4. Taylor Nation
SL: 🕰️ Taylor Swift's new album Midnights
Chosen for: DESIGN
We’re enjoying the animation of the flame in this email. It animates flawlessly and may we even say it’s flamin’ good? The animation gif filesize is pretty large, and whilst there’s no hard and fast rule for gif filesizes in email - the larger the file, the longer it’ll take to load.
The downside to this email is the amount of images used, along with the large animated gif the user may get inpatient and decide not to wait for the email to load.
5. M&S
SL: Your weekly ways to save with M&S
Chosen for: DESIGN
This email contains multiple animations but doesn’t feel overwhelming. They’re subtle enough to get the message across, and to draw the eye to the copy.
Chosen for: COPY & CONTENT
The copy and content in this email is engaging. With the current cost of living crisis, and the on-going concerns about the environment - it’s good to read that M&S are offering transparency on their supply chain whilst reassuring customers that buying their cheaper products does not mean they’re getting lower standard items. We feel they’ve managed to get two important issues across in one clearly thought out email.
