Ah, February. The month of love. Apols in advance, but we’ve gone all in for Valentine’s with this month’s round-up, so if you’re not into it then look away now. But we’ve been heart-ily impressed with these brand’s email offerings and we think you will be too. XOXO.
1. Pocket Sport
SL: It must be love
Chosen for: UGC and Copy
What (or in this case, who) needs the most TLC when it comes to a brand’s success? The customer. Everything comes back to them, after all. So we love the way this email from Pocket Sport is completely customer-centric. The body copy is simple but ticks all the boxes of what their customers will love. This plus the user generated content is a perfect pairing, bringing value back to the reader and involving them in the Pocket Sport community.
2. Thortful
SL: Calling all lovebirds
Chosen for: Copy
Thortful apparently aren’t afraid of risky red, as we can see. But the design and ratios have allowed it to work nicely. And besides, why shouldn’t a greeting card and gifting company go full-on cheesy for V-Day? Speaking of cheese, we’re head over heels for the Valentine’s puns and cute copy. The ‘3 month situationship’ reference is particularly relatable - we’ve all been there!
3. Captain Whidbey
SL: Capturing Romance: Your Lagoon Retreat Awaits
Chosen for: Multi-channel branding
Captain Whidbey is an Independent hotel and restaurant nestled on the shores of Whidbey Island, Washington. But as we know, small and independent can also be almighty, which this establishment demonstrates perfectly. And it’s not just their emails, but across other channels such as their website and socials too. The branding captures their identity brilliantly, from the historical significance reflected in the colour palette and typeface, to the premium experiences they offer that’s clear in the stunning imagery and elevated copy. It makes us want to hop on a plane and visit tomorrow (Valentine's gift, anyone?).
4. Treatwell
SL: Find hair & beauty love this Valentine’s
Chosen for: Design
A nice touch from Treatwell here, incorporating their own search tool into their Valentine’s themed design. Upon opening the email, the hero block instantly reminds us of their service in an effective, yet simple way. We also like how they’ve changed their usual branding for the Day of Love, with the red banner in place of their usual blue.
5. Uber
SL: 10% off your Valentine's Day trip
Chosen for: Design
From the moment we opened it, this email from Uber stood out thanks to its eye-catching animation and bold colour palette. They’ve incorporated their iconic cars into the Valentine’s design, and shout-out for the copy that works hard to keep the theme consistent. We’re not sure if highlighting the extra room in their taxis for ‘heartfelt moments’ is the wisest move…but it’s great to see they’re open to anything!
Hopefully some of these examples have considered you to think about your own email creatives. If you feel inspired to take another look at your designs, rewrite some copy, or get interactive then drop us a message and our team of email specialists will be more than happy to help.
